The country will get its first rapid rail service on October 20

The country is going to get its first rapid rail on 20th October.  PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate RAPIDEX on October 20.  PM Modi will flag off the rapid train in Sahibabad at 11:15 am.
In the first phase, the 17 km long primary section of Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor will be started.  The total length of this corridor is 82 km, out of which 14 km is in Delhi while 68 km is in Uttar Pradesh.  In the first section, Rapid Rail will run between Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot.
After the first phase, this project will be extended from Duhai to Meerut.  Work will be done in the second phase till Meerut South, in the third phase the work will be completed between Sahibabad and Delhi.  In the year 2025, Rapid Rail will be seen running between Delhi and Meerut.  This journey will be completed in just 55 minutes.
