Manish Malhotra Deal With Air India: If you travel on an Air India flight this time and you see a female employee of the airline in a new dress, don't be shocked.  Yes, Tata Group-owned Air India is undergoing a transformation.  Recently, there were reports that Air India is considering changing the uniforms of cabin crew employees.  Yet Air India female crew-members wear saree.  But now new dresses are being designed for them.

Air India has announced a partnership with renowned fashion designer Manish Malhotra to design new dresses.  The staff is expected to be in the new uniforms by November or December this year.  Manish Malhotra will design new uniforms for Air India's more than 10,000 employees.  These include cabin crew, cockpit crew, ground and security staff.  After that, flight attendants will not be seen in saris.
Ever since the Tata Group took over Air India, the airline has been making changes to distinguish itself in the global market.  The dress code of airline staff will be changed after nearly six decades.  The uniform of Vistara Airlines will be similar to that of Air India employees.  On the deal with Manish Malhotra, Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson said, "We are delighted with the deal with Manish Malhotra to take Air India forward."  He said that Air India employees will soon get a new look.
