Central Government fresh affidavit in Supreme Court on Manipur Violence: CBI will now probe viral video of brutality in Manipur. According to sources, the Home Ministry has handed over the case to the CBI. The CBI will soon register a case in the case and start investigations. It will also recommend that the case be tried outside Manipur. Police have also arrested the accused who made the video of the brutality. They also recovered the video phone. According to sources, the central government has started talks with senior representatives of the Kuki and Maitei communities in Manipur. So far, there have been 6 separate rounds in the case.
T he Union government on Wednesday filed an affidavit in the Supreme Court on Manipur. In the affidavit, the government said it has a zero tolerance policy towards crimes against women. The Center has decided to hand over the Manipur Violence probe to the CBI in consultation with the state government. It also urged the SC to have the case tried outside Manipur.
