PM Narendra Modi inaugurated SEMICON India 2023 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat today (Friday). This program will demonstrate technology related to semiconductors. Speaking at the inauguration of Semicon India 2023, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that just as software needs to be updated, so does the programme. Relationships with industry, experts and policy makers are kept updated through Semicon India. I also believe that it is necessary for harmony in relationships.
"We are seeing rapid growth in India's digital sector and electronic manufacturing," Modi said. A few years ago, India was an emerging player in this sector and today our share in global electronics manufacturing has increased manifold. In 2014, India's electronics production was less than $30 billion. Today it has surpassed $100 billion.
At the Semicon India 2023 programme, the Prime Minister further said that India's electronics exports have doubled in just two years. Exports of mobile phones made in India have doubled. A country that was once an importer of mobile phones is today manufacturing and exporting the best mobile phones in the world.
