Large infiltration in Manipur amid riots, 700 Myanmar nationals entered illegally

Amid ongoing riots between the Kuki and Maitei communities in Manipur, a major infiltration has now emerged in the state.  More than 700 Myanmar nationals have reportedly illegally entered Manipur's Chandel district.  The Manipur government has expressed concern that the Assam Rifles have reported the infiltration of 718 refugees into Manipur.
 The Manipur government has expressed concern over the infiltration, describing it as sensitive.  The state government has sought a detailed report from the Assam Rifles Authority.  The government has asked why and how Myanmar nationals were allowed to enter Chandel district.  The government has also advised to send them back immediately.  The SP and Deputy Commissioner of Chandel district have also been advised to keep biometrics with surveillance.
