The Ambubachi Mela will start on June 22. During this period, millions of devotees will flock to Kamakhya Dham on the banks of the Nilachal. The city administration issued a ban on traffic for the Ambubachi Mela on Tuesday due to heavy traffic jams.
There will be a special restriction on traffic from June 22 to 26 .According to the directives, temples and local residents will be allowed to take special vehicles. Vehicles carrying goods will not be allowed to travel on DG Road and MG Road. Vehicles carrying goods will also be banned from traveling on AT Road.
However, the administration has allowed traffic from 12 pm to 6 am. No passenger buses will be allowed to operate on DG Road and MG Road.
Inter-district or outbound buses are also banned on AT Road. Vehicles coming from Maligaon direction will have to park near Kamakhya Gate. Vehicles coming from Bharalumukh direction can park at Sonaram Field.
Returning vehicles can be parked at Baripara Field or Adabari Bus Station. Vehicles will not be allowed to park on the road from Pandu Temple Gate to Kamakhya Trinath Temple.
