After Kedarnath, the doors of Lord Badrinath Dham have also opened for pilgrims. Heavy snowfall was falling in Badrinath before the valves opened, but despite this, devotees were seen dancing with cheers. Like every year, the first puja and Aarti was held in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Besides the ITBP band, Garhwal Scouts also performed on the occasion. Before the doors opened, Shankaracharya had reached the Avimukeshwarananda temple. The temple is decorated with more than 15 tons of flowers.
Badrinath is the eighth heavenly abode of the creation where Lord Vishnu resides for 12 months. It is believed that Lord Vishnu rests here for 6 months and gives darshan to devotees for 6 months. Another belief is that 6 months of the year, humans worship Lord Vishnu, the remaining 6 months of the gods worship Lord Vishnu, the chief priest is the sage Narada himself.
With the opening of the doors of Badrinath Dham, the pilgrimage to four shrines in Uttarakhand has begun. This day is chosen by the King of Tehri which has been an old tradition. Former Dharmadhikari Bhuvan Chandra Uniyal says that the doors of Badrinath Dham are opened from the date on which Vaishakh starts and according to tradition, the date of the Tehri Naresh of Narendra Nagar is fixed. According to tradition, humans worship Lord Vishnu for 6 months and gods for 6 months.
