Ratan Tata: Ratan Tata receives Australia's highest civilian honour

Industrialist and Honorary Chairman of Tata Sons Ratan Tata has been awarded Australia's highest civilian honour, the Order of Australia.  Australian Ambassador to India Barry O'Farrell confirmed this on Twitter over the weekend.  Farrell described Ratan Tata as a 'giant of business, industry and philanthropy'.  He said Tata's contribution had made a significant impact on Australia.  "Ratan Tata is not only a giant of business, industry and philanthropy in India, but his contributions have made a significant impact in Australia as well. Ratan Tata has a long standing commitment to India-Australia relations," O'Farrell tweeted on Saturday  is pleased to award him the Order of Australia (AO) honor in recognition of his commitment."
