Indian Navy gets indigenous ship INS Ikshak

The Indian Navy was handed over another powerful hydrographic survey vessel 'Ikshak' (Yard 3027) on 14 August 2025. This is the 102nd ship designed by the Warship Design Bureau of the Indian Navy. It has been built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE), Kolkata and is being monitored by the Warship Inspection Team (Kolkata).

This is the third ship of the 'Survey Vessel Large' (SVL) series. Earlier, INS Sandhayak was inducted into the Navy on 3 February 2024 and INS Nirdeksha on 18 December 2024. The agreement for the construction of four SVL ships was signed on 30 October 2024.
