National Desk:
Forced conversion has become a serious issue in the country.  Some states have definitely made laws at their level, but now this matter is not limited to only a few states.  For this reason, an appeal has also been made to the Supreme Court that a strict law should be made against this forcible conversion.  Now in this episode, an important hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Monday.  SC has expressed concern over forced/fraudulent conversions.
During the hearing, the court has said that this is not an issue related to only one particular state.  Our concern is about such cases happening across the country.  There is no need to give political color by linking it to any one state.  Now for information, let us tell you that a hearing was held in the Supreme Court on December 5 in this matter as well.  Then the court asked the Center to talk to the states and file an affidavit.  At that time, Justice MR Shah had bluntly said that people should have the right to choose their religion, but it is not right to convert them.  At that time, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta had told that the Gujarat government has made a law against this forcible conversion, discussions are also being held with some other states, the Center will file an affidavit within two weeks.  Now after the same assurance, a hearing was held in the Supreme Court on Monday, but the Center did not file an affidavit.
