The Government of India released the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Code of Conduct) Amendment Rules, 2022.  The amended rules make it mandatory for several social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Instagram to comply with the provisions of the Constitution of India and the sovereign laws of India.
 According to the notification of the new IT rules, companies will have to make available information related to service rules and privacy policy on their website, mobile application or both.
 In the proposed changes in the new IT rules, it will also be necessary for the intermediary companies to respect the civil rights mentioned in the Indian Constitution.
 72 hours will be ensured for disposal of complaints.  On receipt of the complaint received by the intermediary company regarding the removal of objectionable content, the primary action will be taken within 72 hours.
 Action will have to be taken on any other complaint within 15 days, so that the objectionable content cannot go viral.
 Ensure that the person using his computer resource does not host, distribute, display, upload, publish or share any material that may belong to another person,  In which the user does not have the right, abusive, obscene, child sexual abuse, violates the privacy of others, harass on the basis of caste, color or birth, induces hawala or or violates any law of the land  Posts affecting the unity, integrity, defence, security, sovereignty of India, affecting foreign policy or relations, material spreading virus/spam, false propaganda prepared for economic gain and in which any  There seems to be a possibility of defrauding, harming the person or organization.
