National Desk:
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia has been summoned by the CBI in the excise policy case. He has been called for questioning by the CBI on Monday at 11 pm. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) recently made the first arrest in the Delhi Liquor Policy case. The ED had arrested Sameer Mahendru, a close aide of Manish Sisodia.
After receiving the summon, Sisodia made a tweet, he wrote- 'CBI raid was conducted at my house for 14 hours, nothing came out. Searched my bank locker, nothing came out in it. They did not find anything in my village. Now they have called me to CBI Headquarters at 11 am tomorrow. I will go and give my full cooperation. Satyameva Jayate.'
Manish Sisodia's name tops in the FIR registered by the CBI regarding the Delhi Excise Policy case. The names of the rest of the accused are coming down. In such a situation, it is certain that Manish Sisodia is the only one living in the center of the investigation. Apart from Sisodia, the investigating agency has made 14 more people accused in this case.
There are two main allegations against Manish Sisodia in this whole case. The first allegation is that when the Excise Department issued licenses for Liquor Shops, during this period a total of Rs 144 crore 36 lakh was benefited by Manish Sisodia to Private Vendors because the license fee of so much was waived during this period. Due to which the government suffered a huge loss.
