National Desk:
Now big news has come out about the outgoing President of BCCI, Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly is now going to contest the election of Bengal Cricket Association. Ganguly has been the President of CAB in the past as well. After the death of Jagmohan Dalmiya in 2015, Ganguly took over as the President of the CAB. He held this position in the CAB till he became the President of BCCI in October 2019.
Jagmohan Dalmiya's son Abhishek Dalmiya became the CAB President after Sourav became the BCCI President. Now the tenure of Abhishek Dalmiya is going to end. In such a situation, Sourav Ganguly is going to contest elections along with the rest of the officials. The election for the post of CAB president is likely to be held later this month.
The departure of 50-year-old Sourav Ganguly from the post of BCCI President has been fixed. Former cricketer Roger Binny will formally replace Sourav Ganguly on October 18. Roger Binny was a member of the Indian team that won the ODI World Cup for the first time in 1983 under the captaincy of Kapil Dev. While Roger Binny is going to become the new boss of BCCI, Jay Shah will continue as the secretary.
He gave the example of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to achieve success. He said, 'Life, achievements and progress are not about small goals. You cannot become Sachin Tendulkar or Narendra Modi in a day. You have to give your life, time, days, weeks and months. This is the key to success.' Sourav Ganguly said that the challenges as a player were more than the challenges as an administrator.
Ganguly had said, 'I was in administration for eight years, but I think the challenges of a cricketer are more. Administrators have time to rectify mistakes, but if you get out to Glenn McGrath in the morning of a Test match, you have no chance to improve.
