Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2022: The Nobel Prize in Chemistry-2022 has been announced.  This year the award was presented by Carolyn Bertozzi of Stanford University, USA, Morten Mieldall of the University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and K.K. of the Scripps Research Center, USA.  Barry Sharpless.  This award has been given for the development of click chemistry and bioorthogonal chemistry.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Nobel Prize for Physics-2022 was announced.  The Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to three scientists on the second day of the Nobel Prize Week 2022 being held in Stockholm, Sweden.  Allen Aspect, John F. Klauser and Anton Gellinger were given this award.  These three scientists were awarded for their work in the field of 'quantum mechanics'.
At the same time, the Nobel Prize in Medicine in 2022 has been announced to Svante Paibo of the Max Planck Institute of Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, for research on the evolution of humans.  In other words, Pabo was awarded this prestigious award for sequencing the genomes of Neanderthals and Denisovans, an extinct species resembling modern humans, and for deriving unique insights from these discoveries into the evolution of humans.
Pabo is widely known for his leadership role in the field of ancient DNA.  It is a research area that deals with the recovery and analysis of historical and pre-historic remains.  Pabo earned his PhD in medical science from Uppsala University in Sweden in the early 1980s.
