The institute is ranked 11th in the international rankings (IIT Guwahati improves in international rankings).IIT Guwahati has already climbed to 37th position in the QS World University Rankings in terms of “Citations per Faculty” and 384th position in the overall world rankings. IIT Guwahati also secured its place in the 2014 QS World University Rankings in a total of 217 categories.IIT Guwahati is already ranked as the second largest institute of technology in India for its excellence in technology research and innovation. The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore is the first in this regard.
