Train services in Dima Hasao have been suspended indefinitely

 There are many train passengers stranded at New Haflong station in Dima Hasao district.  Passengers of the Guwahati-Shillong Express have been stranded at New Haflong station for more than 24 hours due to the cancellation of train services.  Meanwhile, the Shillong-Guwahati Express train was also delayed at Ditokchera railway  station with passengers.
 The passengers, who were stranded at New Haflong station for more than 24 hours, said they had not received any assistance from the railway department.  The Assam Rifles provided them with rice to eat on Saturday night . MLA Nandita Garlocha provided drinking water to the train passengers.  However, the railway department provided biscuits and water on Sunday morning. The District Commissioner said buses have been arranged to take the stranded passengers to Maibang . The passengers will be taken to Lamding from Maibang.  There are also buses from the Assam Rifles to take the passengers to Maibang.
