The men's and women's flag bearers of the Indian team for the Paris Olympics have been announced. Star badminton player PV Sindhu and table tennis player A Sharat Kamal will be the flag bearers at the opening ceremony. Four-time Olympian and 2012 Olympic Games men's 10m air rifle bronze medalist Gagan Narang has been appointed chef-de-mission of the Indian team. He will replace MC Mary Kom.
Indian Olympic Association president PT Usha said, " I was looking for an Olympic medalist to lead my team and my young partner is a suitable replacement for Mary Kom."
