Posthumous Kirti Chakra to Captain Anshuman Singh

Captain Anshuman, who was martyred in Siachen, was posthumously awarded the Kirti Chakra at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Friday.  His wife Smriti and mother Manju received the award from the President.  Smriti said that ,“Captain Anshuman was very capable. He want to die from a bullet to his chest.  He don't want to die like a common man whom no one knows.''
On the morning of July 19, 2023, several tents of the Indian Army caught fire in the Siachen glacier.  Regimental medical officer Captain Anshuman Singh was martyred in an attempt to overcome this.  Anshuman Singh, a resident of Deoria in UP, was married on February 10, 2023, five months before the accident.  Anshuman had gone to Siachen 15 days before the incident.
