India-born Jaya Badiga appointed judge in Sacramento County Superior Court

 Jaya Badiga, of Indian origin, has now been appointed as a judge in California.  This also matters because Jaya Badiga is the first person from a Telugu-speaking state in India to become a judge in California.  Jaya Badiga has been appointed a judge in the Sacramento County Superior Court.
 Jaya Badiga was born in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.  She completed her early education in Hyderabad.  She holds a BA in Psychology and Political Science from Osmania University, Hyderabad. 
 She furthered her studies in the United States.  She holds a Juris Doctor degree from Santa Clara University School of Law.  She also holds an MA in International Relations and International Communication from Boston University.  In 2009, she passed the California State Bar Examination.
 Jaya Badiga was Staff Consul, Attorney Advisor, Managing Attorney and Attorney at the Department of Health Care Service in California.  Prior to becoming a judge, she was also a commissioner in the Sacramento County Superior Court.
