Shompen Tribe: The Shompen tribe of Andaman voted for the first time

Andaman and Nicobar Islands Shompen Tribe exercised their voting rights for the first time: Seven members of the Shompen Tribe in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands have exercised their voting rights for the first time.  The tribe is among the particularly vulnerable tribes (PVTGs) of the Great Nicobar Islands.
Seven voters belonging to the Shompen tribe in Greater Nicobar Islands cast their ballots in the first phase of voting on Friday in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, the only Lok Sabha constituency in this union territory, according to Election Commission officials.
