Gopichand Thotakura: Gopichand will make history, becoming the first Indian to travel to space as a tourist

Born in Andhra Pradesh, Gopichand Thotakura is about to make history by traveling into space.  He will travel to space as a tourist as part of the crew for the New Shepherd-25 (NS-25) mission.  He became the first Indian astronaut and the second Indian to go into space after Indian Army Wing Commander Rakesh Sharma in 1984.  However, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos' space company Blue Origin has yet to set a flight date for the mission.  Hopefully it will be announced soon.
