World Wildlife Day is celebrated on March 3 every year to raise awareness about endangered species of plants and animals around the world. On this special day, governments around the world organize various awareness campaigns to protect wildlife. The United Nations General Assembly celebrates this special day with different themes every year.
A United Nations resolution was signed on March 3, 1973 to ban international trade in endangered wild fruits and flowers from around the world. To commemorate this special day, on 20 December 2013, the 63rd session of the United Nations General Assembly decided that on March 3 every year.
