Police officer Partha Sarathi Mahanta was promoted from his former DIG to IGP on Saturday. He was promoted by an official directive of the Home Department of the Government of Assam.
The directive said Partha Sarathi Mahanta has been allowed to serve as Inspector General of Police from January 24 .His promotion will continue at Level-13-A of the pay matrix. Along with the promotion, Mahanta has also been given the additional responsibility of Inspector General of STF.
