Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated India’s first indigenous hydrogen fuel cell ferry, marking a significant milestone in the country's green technology development. The ferry, developed under the Harit Nauka initiative, showcases India's commitment to sustainable maritime solutions and reducing carbon emissions. Cochin Shipyard, in collaboration with Indian Register of Shipping and KPIT Technologies, spearheaded the project, highlighting indigenous capabilities in advanced technology.The launch of the hydrogen fuel cell ferry aligns with India's National Green Hydrogen Mission, demonstrating a progressive step towards achieving net-zero emissions by 2070.
