After the end of the remand period, in the case of murder of a four-year old son in Goa, the police presented the accused mother Suchana Seth in the court, after which the police got remand for 5 more days. Now Suchana Seth will remain in police remand till January 19.
A senior police officer said that the accused Suchana Seth is not cooperating in the investigation. He said, "We had sought extension of her custody because we wanted more time to interrogate her. We also have to complete other formalities like taking her DNA sample." He told that the recording of the statement of Seth's husband Venkat Raman has been completed.
Let us tell you that on Sunday, Suchana Seth and her husband Venkat Raman were made to sit face to face and interrogated in Goa police station. Suchana's husband told the Goa Police that she had not allowed him to meet their child for the last five Sundays.
Venkat Raman had reached the police station to record his statement before Investigating Officer (IO) Paresh Naik in connection with the investigation. According to the police, Suchana Seth had allegedly strangulated her son to death in a service apartment in Candolim in North Goa.
She then packed the body in a bag and took a taxi to go back to Bengaluru, but was arrested midway on January 8 in Chitradurga, Karnataka.
