Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the world's largest corporate office hub 'Surat Diamond Bourse' today. Built on 35.54 acres of land at a cost of Rs 3400 crore, Surat Diamond Bourse is set to become a global hub for trading of rough and polished diamonds. Apart from this, Surat Airport will inaugurate the Integrated Terminal Building. As a gateway to the city of Surat, the terminal building has been designed with its local culture and heritage in mind.
Diamond Bourse is the largest interconnected building in the world, as it houses over 4,500 interconnected offices. The building has the capacity to accommodate 4,200 traders from 175 countries who will come to Surat to buy polished diamonds. This trade facility will provide employment to approximately 1.5 lakh people, as diamond buyers from all corners of the world will get a global platform to do business in Surat.
Earlier in July, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had shared a media report on 'X', stating that Surat Diamond Bourse has now overtaken the Pentagon, which has been the world's largest office space for the last 80 years. Surat Diamond Bourse will serve as a hub of trade, innovation and collaboration, further boosting our economy and creating employment opportunities.
