Mahendra Singh Dhoni: The Board of Control for Cricket in India, or BCCI, had retired the jersey number 10 of one of the great Indian batsmen, Sachin Tendulkar, after his retirement from cricket. Now according to the latest news, BCCI has also retired the jersey number-7 of former great Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
According to a report in Indian Express, BCCI has retired Mahendra Singh Dhoni's popular and iconic jersey number 7 in his honour. Earlier, BCCI had retired Sachin Tendulkar's jersey number-10 in 2017.
According to the report, a senior official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India said that BCCI has already informed all the players that now they no longer have the option of wearing the number-7 jersey along with number-10. BCCI has informed the current players of the Indian cricket team and all the new upcoming young players not to use the historic jersey number 7 of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. BCCI has decided to retire Dhoni's jersey number because of his contribution to Indian cricket.
