Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck arrived at the IORA Retreat in Kaziranga, Assam on Saturday. He was received by Assam Environment and Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patwari and Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora along with other senior officials. The Bhutanese King held a meeting with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday. The meeting, characterized by mutual respect and shared vision, showcased the deep ties between the two neighboring countries.
“I had the privilege of meeting King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan in Guwahati,” Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on We have benefited greatly from His Excellency's vision. I conveyed the enthusiasm of our people to strengthen the principle of Neighborhood First of the Honorable Prime Minister." The two leaders also discussed partnership in infrastructure, cooperation in healthcare, shared spiritual heritage and people-to-people ties.
