Today is another historic day for Dima Hasao district. After the DHD (J) militant group, another rebel group surrendered on Saturday.
170 members of the Dimasa National Liberation Army (DNLA) surrendered in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma. After the surrender, the Chief Minister handed over Rs 4 lakh each to the members for rehabilitation.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Ministers Piyush Hazarika, Jayanta Mulla Barua, Yogen Mohan, Nandita Garlocha, Karbi-Anglong Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Tuliram Ranghang, North Kachar Hill Autonomous Council Chief Executive Member Deblal Garlocha and State Director General of Police G.K P Singh, Additional Director General of Police, Special Branch, Assam Police, Hiren Chandra Nath and Additional Chief Secretary, Home and Political Department, Ravi Kata.
