'Work not only for environment but also for clean legal system', said CJI DY Chandrachud

On the occasion of the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, a program was organized in the Supreme Court on Monday and tributes were paid to both the great men. During this, Supreme Court judges Justice Sanjeev Khanna, Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice KB Vishwanathan garlanded the statue of Mahatma Gandhi and the photograph of Lal Bahadur Shastri.

CJI's message::
On this occasion, the judges also participated in the cleanliness campaign organized inside the Supreme Court premises. Although Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud could not attend the event, his message was also read. The CJI, through his message, stressed the need to create not only the physical environment but also a clean legal system.
Chief Justice Justice Chandrachud said in his message, 'Let us not only clean our physical environment but also strive for a cleaner, more transparent and accountable legal system. Let us all together continue our journey in search of a just and clean society. The CJI's message said that on the special occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, we celebrate the birth anniversary of the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, whose principles of non-violence, truth and self-discipline continue to inspire us in the pursuit of justice.'
