It has been announced to close the functioning of the Afghan Embassy in India from 1st October i.e. today.  Afghanistan has claimed not to get cooperation from the host country India.  On Saturday night he announced that he was closing his operations here from October 1. The Afghan Embassy said in a statement that it deeply regrets the announcement of this decision.  It is with great sadness and disappointment that the Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi is announcing this decision to close its operations.  In its statement, the Embassy gave some reasons for not being able to run the mission effectively.  The embassy has also said that it has not lived up to the expectations in fulfilling the interests of Afghanistan.

It has been said on behalf of the Embassy that the help that should be provided in this difficult time was not received from the host country India.  As an embassy, it failed to live up to the expectations of the citizens of Afghanistan because the legitimate government was not functioning in Kabul and necessary help was not received from India.  Due to lack of resources, the number of embassy staff had to be reduced to a minimum, which made it increasingly difficult to carry out important tasks.  There was also a problem in renewing the visas of Afghan diplomats and this affected the work.
