NASA Asteroid: American space agency NASA's OSIRIS-REx spacecraft has landed on Earth with a sample of asteroid Bennu. Its soft landing took place via parachute in the Utah desert of America at 8.22 pm Indian time on Sunday night. The Osiris-Rex spacecraft, flying near Earth, released the capsule from a distance of 63,000 miles. According to NASA, the capsule contains 250 grams of sample. The samples that OSIRIS-REx landed with are 4.6 billion-year-old fragments of space rock that may shed light not only on how planets formed but how life began.
According to the information, the sample capsule of asteroid Bennu will first be kept in a temporary clean lab in the Utah desert range. After this, on Monday the sample will be sent to Houston by air in a sealed container.
