Internationaldesk:
Earlier this month, US President Joe Biden and other leaders expressed concern to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Canada's claims of New Delhi's involvement in the killing of Khalistani militant Hardeep Singh Nijjar during the G20 summit.  A report in the Financial Times claims.
Quoting three people familiar with discussions at the summit, the report said several members of the Five Eyes (an intelligence sharing alliance comprising the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) raised the issue with PM Modi  .  Biden "felt it was important to raise the issue directly with his Indian counterpart," the report said.
The report claims, “The leaders intervened at the G20 summit after Canada urged its allies to raise the matter directly with Modi, two people familiar with the situation said, Ottawa claimed them privately  asked to mention.'
Specifically, a Washington Post report published earlier this week said Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had asked his closest allies, including the United States, to publicly condemn the killing of the Sikh separatist leader, but requests  was rejected.  The report did not mention the G20 summit and did not say whether it was the same location where Washington was briefed on the allegations.
