Hindi Diwas 2023: Hindi language is one of the major languages of the world. Hindi is also seen as the identity of India. National Hindi Day is celebrated across the country on 14th September. This day is celebrated to promote Hindi in the country. Hindi, the official language of our country, is today the third most widely spoken language in the world. According to a report, 60.22 crore people use Hindi language worldwide.
The official start of celebrating Hindi Day was on 14 September 1953. In 1953, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the Prime Minister of India, announced in Parliament House that 14 September would be celebrated as National Hindi Day. Since then, this day is celebrated as National Hindi Day every year. Hindi Day was celebrated from 14 September 1953 on the recommendation of Rashtrabhasha Prachar Samiti. World Hindi Day is celebrated all over the world on January 10. Thus, Hindi Day is celebrated twice in India.
Hindi Day is celebrated in the country to promote Hindi. Hindi Bhasha Award is also given on this day to inspire people. Many programs are held on this day. Hindi Day is celebrated for a whole week, known as Hindi Pakhwara. This day is celebrated in everything from schools to offices. The reason behind celebrating Hindi Day in India is that it was given the status of an official language. On the occasion of Hindi Day, the President honors all those who have achieved in any field of Hindi language.
