He has reached the final of the ongoing World Athletics Championships in Budapest, Hungary and could become world champion with one best throw.
Neeraj Chopra has qualified for the Paris Olympics by reaching the final of the World Athletics Championships The Tokyo Olympic gold medalist made his best throw of the season in the qualifying round to enter the final on top. He threw 88.77m in the qualifying round to qualify for the 12-man final.
Neeraj Chopra, 25, who serves in the Army, has won titles in the Olympics, Asia Games, Commonwealth Games, Diamond League and Under-20 World Championships. However at senior level he has yet to win gold at the World Championships. Neeraj made history by winning a silver medal in the same championship last year. He is the only Indian to win a medal at the senior level.
