Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a big announcement at ISRO's command centre. He said the place where the lander of the Chandrayaan-3 mission landed would now be known as 'Shiva-Shakti' while the place where Chandrayaan-2 left its footprint would be known as 'Tiranga.'
PM Modi congratulated the scientists on the success upon their arrival at the ISRO command centre. During his address, he announced that the point where the Chandrayaan-3 lander landed would be named Shiv Shakti. He said that Shiva embodies the resolution of welfare of humanity and Shakti gives us the strength to fulfill those resolutions.
PM Modi also announced the name of the touch point of the Chandrayaan. “Four years ago, the place where Chandrayaan-2 reached was supposed to be named but we could not name it under the circumstances of the time. We decided at that time that when Chandrayaan-3 is successful, it will be named. The place where Chandrayaan-2 left its footprints will be known as Tiranga Point. This point taught us that no failure is the last. If you have strong will power, you will find success,” he said.
