High Court acquitted six accused in the Dhemaji bomb blasts

All accused in Dhemaji blasts acquitted.  Gauhati High Court on Thursday acquitted them.
 The petitioner had appealed to the High Court challenging the lower court's judgment.  The High Court held the final hearing of the case on July24.
 On August 15, 2004, a terrible bomb blast occurred.  The Ulfa carried out the bombings on Independence Day.  The blast killed 18 children.
 A total of six accused were convicted by the lower court.  The court sentenced Dipanjali Buragohain, Muhi Handique, Jatin Duwari,Leela Gogoi to life imprisonment.  The court sentenced Prashant Bhuyan and Hemen Gogoi to four years in jail.  The Gauhati High Court today acquitted several of the accused.
