After a long wait of nearly 41 days, India's Chandrayaan-3 has finally made history. India has become the fourth country in the world to reach the moon with the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3 lander Vikram. Only the United States, the Soviet Union and China have been able to do so before. More importantly, India is the first country in the world to step on the south pole of the moon. After 19 minutes of 'terror time' on Wednesday evening (August 23), Indian space agency ISRO director S.K. Somnath gave the good news to the entire country that every Indian had been waiting for since the launch of Chandrayaan-3 on July 14. The ISRO chief reported the successful landing of the Chandrayaan-3 lander, but also announced that the mission is not yet complete. He told the world that the next 14 days in this mission are crucial.

ISRO Director S.K. Somnath announces successful landing on moon. “The next 14 days of the mission are very important for us. It may take about a day for the Pragyan rover to emerge from the belly of the Vikram lander. Pragyan will give us information about the atmosphere of the moon. He also spoke about the upcoming plans of ISRO. "Aditya L1 mission will be launched soon," he said. Preparations are underway to launch the spacecraft soon. Several other ISRO missions are also in the queue.
