The BRICS summit is being held in Johannesburg, South Africa on August 22-24. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for South Africa to attend the summit. BRICS Group members Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa will focus on advancing their foreign policy and their agenda to expand their influence within the BRICS and around the world at the summit.
China's main agenda this time is to expand the influence of the BRICS group by expanding the BRICS group. China wants to rival the West by strengthening the BRICS. 40 countries like Indonesia, Iran, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia also want to join BRICS.
China wants to position the organization against Western factions. However, like India, South Africa has said ahead of the BRICS summit that it does not want to join any faction.
