BSF personnel celebrate Independence Day on LoC, say: “We are lucky, we have the responsibility of border security

Independence Day: Aug 15 Border Security Force (BSF) personnel celebrated Independence Day in a remote area near the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday (Aug 15).  The commanding officer of the battalion hoisted the national flag and the soldiers chanted patriotic slogans on the occasion of the country's 77th Independence Day.
Commanding Officer Mohammed Israel said,“Our battalion is deployed on the LoC with three Army contingents.  We are fortunate to have been entrusted with protecting the borders of the country and we are very proud of it.  I want to reassure my countrymen that they are safe.  The enemy cannot enter (the country) while we are alive.”
