Delhi Service Bill became law, President approved, Government of India notification issued

The Delhi Service Bill has been approved by the President.  It is now the law in Delhi.  The notification of the Government of India provides for the implementation of the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2023.  Union Home Minister Amit Shah had introduced the National Capital Territory of Delhi Government (Amendment) Bill, 2023 in Parliament on August  This law will replace the Ordinance on the Control of Services in the National Capital.
 The Act will be called the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Act, 2023, the government said in a notification.  It will be deemed to be effective from May 19, 2023.  Section 2 of the National Capital Territory Government of Delhi Act, 1991 (hereinafter referred to as the Basic Act) incorporated certain provisions in clause (e).  'Lieutenant Governor' means the Administrator appointed under Article 239 of the Constitution for the National Capital Territory of Delhi and designated by the President as the Lieutenant Governor.
 The bill proposed that actions like suspension and interrogation of officials of the national capital would be under the control of the Centre.  It was introduced in Parliament on August 1 amid uproar in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha over the Manipur violence.  Most of the opposition parties were seen against the bill.
