WhatsApp Down: WhatsApp did not run for hours, users around the world could not send messages

WhatsApp Down: Messaging app WhatsApp went down suddenly on Wednesday night (Indian time).  This affected millions of users around the world.  Users could neither send nor receive messages during the service down.  Outage tracking website Downdetector.com reported the down.  More than 16,000 people in India and 37,000 in the US reported outages.  Facebook's parental company Meta soon solved the problem.
 Meta reported that WhatsApp has fixed the connectivity issue and can now use the app.  Users worldwide faced problems running WhatsApp.  WhatsApp also tweeted about the fix.  However, the total time of the downtime of WhatsApp has not been announced.  WABetaInfo, a website that provides information about WhatsApp's upcoming features, also tweeted about the downtime.
 According to the down detector, the WhatsApp down problem started at around 1.33 AM IST (Indian time).  Both mobile app and WhatsApp Web service was down during the period.  Users experienced trouble sending and receiving messages.
