Assam govt. Provided to free textbook over 59 lakh students

In a significant development aimed at promoting education and easing the burden on students, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu on Thursday chaired a meeting of the State Empowered Committee.
 The meeting was attended by the Chairman of SEBA (Secondary Education Board of Assam), AHSEC (Assam Higher Secondary Education Council) and the Textbook Corporation.
 Under the scheme, free textbooks will be provided to a staggering 59.24 lakh students across Assam for the academic year 2023-24.  The initiative, estimated to incur an expenditure of ₹222.36 crore, aims to ensure that every student has access to essential learning materials without any financial burden.
