Uma Chetry, the first woman cricketer from Assam and the Northeastern states, to be selected in the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team, received a cash reward of Rs 5 lakh from the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on Monday July 3, 2023.

The 20-year-old wicketkeeper-batter was felicitated by ACA president Taranga Gogoi and ACA secretary Tridib Konwar at a ceremony in Guwahati.
Gogoi congratulated Chetry on her remarkable achievement and expressed his excitement on Twitter.
