Amid ongoing violence in the northeastern state of Manipur, state CM N Biren Singh has tweeted that he will not resign as chief minister.  Earlier, several women had torn up the resignation letter of Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh.  Chief Minister N Biren Singh had planned to visit the Raj Bhavan in Imphal to meet Governor Anusuiya Uike.  He was about to hand over his resignation letter to the Governor during the meeting.
N Biren Singh left for Governor's House on Friday morning.  Meanwhile, some women supporters blocked the road outside the Raj Bhavan and did not allow the CM's convoy to proceed.  Some female supporters have since torn up his resignation and requested him not to resign.
Three people were killed and five others injured in violence that flared up again in Manipur on Thursday.  This fueled speculation of N Biren Singh's resignation as CM.  "At this critical juncture, the Biren Singh government should remain firm and crack down on the rioters," women leader Kshetramayum Shanti said, according to PTI.
