The Assamese language was expelled from the Bodoland University. From now on, undergraduate students of the university will not be able to write in Assamese.
After the recent attacks on the Assamese language under the auspices of the state government, the Bodoland University in Kokrajhar has withdrawn the Assamese language and devalued the Assamese language in its own state.
The university has issued a directive to undergraduate students and graduate students of 59 colleges under the university to write only in English from now on. The new guidelines will not only apply to MILs.
The decision was taken at the March 28 meeting of the university's academic council. The decision was approved by the Vice-Chancellor of the university. Accordingly, students of all courses including undergraduate majors in the university and its 59 affiliated colleges will be able to write only in English.
