Internationaldesk:
Russian President Vladimir Putin thanked the country for showing solidarity after the uprising declared by the private army group ‘Wagner’ in Russia ended less than 24 hours after the announcement.  Putin also thanked the Wagner Army soldiers for preventing the situation from deteriorating into bloodshed after the uprising ended.  Putin's statement mentioned that all necessary measures were taken in the interest of the country and its people.

However, the Russian president blamed the uprising on ‘Russia’s enemies’.  He said the enemies had “misjudged.” The Russian president’s office, the Kremlin, released a video by officials attempting to suggest that voices of protest in the country had subsided and that stability had now prevailed….  The video also tried to show a kind of nonchalance, with Russia's defense minister reviewing security forces in Ukraine.
After the voice of protest was subdued, the chief of the ‘Wagner’ Army, Yevgeny Prigozhin, said that he was not trying to overthrow the Russian government, but to save his private army from being destroyed.  “We started our march because of an injustice,” he said in a statement.  Prigozhin did not say where he is now or what his plans are for the future.
