World Cup 2023 Schedule: Pakistan obstructs World Cup schedule

Sports desk:
The schedule for the 2023 ODI World Cup to be hosted by India later this year has been released.  The International Cricket Council (ICC) rejected all the objections raised by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on the matches and venues of the Pakistan team.  Since then, the PCB has been shaken and has obstructed.
Pakistan's match against India in the World Cup schedule released by the ICC and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday has been scheduled in Ahmedabad as proposed in the earlier draft.  It has ignored the PCB's request to change the venue for matches against Afghanistan and Australia.
The PCB had asked the ICC and BCCI to reschedule their match against Afghanistan from Chennai to Bangalore and the match against Australia from Bangalore to Chennai.  The Pakistan team management was worried that the pitch at Cheppok (Chennai) is helpful to spinners and as such would be a disadvantage to the team against Afghanistan, which has a superb spin bowler.
The ICC's refusal to consider Pakistan's request was expected in advance as it generally considers change of venues only on potential security threats.  The election for the post of PCB president has been postponed till July  17. It remains to be seen how the board reacts to the announcement of the World Cup schedule.
An official source in the board clarified that the program would be sent to the government for approval.  “Our participation in the World Cup and whether to play in Ahmedabad or Mumbai on October 15 to qualify for the semi-finals will depend on the government’s approval,” he said.
