The Eastern Nagaland Territorial Council will be formed from six districts of eastern Nagaland

The Center is moving towards signing the final agreement on the proposal to grant 'Autonomous Councils' for six eastern districts of Nagaland – Tuensang, Mon, Longleng, Kiphire, Shamator and Nokk.  The final agreement is likely to be signed before the monsoon session of Parliament.
A meeting was held in Dimapur on Saturday in the presence of members of the Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation, Eastern Nagaland Legislators Union, top tribal bodies in the region, members of the talk team and frontal organisations.  Sources involved in the meeting said the members were briefed on the contents of the agreement between the Government of India and the ENPO.
