Suleiman Daud, 19, who lost his life in the Titan submersible crash, took his Rubik's cube with him. He wanted to set a Guinness World Record. His mother revealed this in an interview after the accident. He said his son had also applied for Guinness World Records. Dawood's father, Shahzada, has also died in a submarine accident.
In her first interview since the crash, Christine Daoud said, "I didn't understand at that moment what it meant - and then it went downhill from there." The mother also said that she had earlier planned to accompany her husband to see the wreck of the Titanic, however, the trip was then canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
She added that Suleiman loved the Rubik's Cube and took it with him everywhere. He also solved this complex puzzle in just 12 seconds.
Suleiman Dawood was one of five passengers pronounced dead in the devastating explosion that hit Oceangate's Titan submersible last week. It was going to see historic shipwrecks in the Atlantic Ocean.
